HyperBole Studios is pleased to share the announcement of The X-Files CD-ROM Adventure
published by Fox Interactive. HyperBole is collaborating with Fox Interactive to develop the title incorporating
our VirtualCinema®
movie technology, a software engine that allows the player to become the main character in the X-Files story.
The X-Files' Anderson and Duchovny Will Star in X-Files Interactive Adventure
LOS ANGELES--May 13, 1996--Fox Interactive confirmed today that Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny,
international stars of the critically-acclaimed Fox television series the X-Files,
will now star in Fox Interactive's live-action X-Files
CD-ROM adventure, slated for release in 1997.
Fans and players will become immersed in the phenomenon of the X-Files when Anderson and Duchovny portray agents Scully and Mulder in an original production created for the X-Files interactive adventure.
Developed in conjunction with the show's creator, Chris Carter, this interactive
odyssey features a new X-Files storyline for a completely unique X-perience that remains true to
the mystery and intrigue of the television show.
"We are continuing to raise the standard for interactive entertainment with Gillian and David appearing in the X-Files title," said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. "In producing all-original footage for the title, X-philes
and interactive gamers will have a new and intensely realistic
way to explore the mysteries of the paranormal world."
Fox Interactive is developing the title incorporating HyperBole Studios'
VirtualCinema® technology, a software engine that allows the player to
become the main character in the X-Files story.
"The VirtualCinema engine measures the responses and activities of the player and applies them back to the original storyline," said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. "With the VirtualCinema
software and story-driven interactivity, we are able to capture the mysterious X-Files style and provide players with a unique and authentic interactive experience."
The X-Files CD-ROM for Macintosh and Windows 95 brings the dark and mysterious mood and tone of the television series right onto the computer screen incorporating the all-new X-Files storyline. Utilizing video shot exclusively for the title, the
player can communicate with the characters from the show, fully explore their environment, examine clues and evidence, and interview witnesses while collaborating with Mulder and Scully to solve strange paranormal phenomena.
